This project consisted of a building a 12′ x 12′ room over an existing concrete storm room and the construction of a 12′ x 20′ partially covered deck over a concrete walk out basement patio. The treated lumber and Evergrain composite deck flooring and railing was purchased from Home Lumber Co. Floor framing was treated pine 2×10, 24″ on center, outside rim joist was covered with 1/2″ thick composite skirt board. Stairway framing to concrete patio below was also treated pine with composite skirt board and 2×6 Evergrain composite flooring for treads. Flooring was 2×6 Evergrain composite material drilled and surface screwed. Balusters for railing were Evergrain composite 2×2, 6″ on center screwed to rim joist at bottom with a 45 degree chamfer. Top of railing consisted of a Evergrain composite 2×4 vertically, screwed to the balusters and a Evergrain composite 2×6 horizontally on screwed to the top of the balusters and the 2×4 rail. Roofing was done by Mark Bloyer of Bloyer Roofing.
